5 Minutes to manifest a dream!

What we call the end is often the beginning.

Together we hold the “currency” to fund a new beginning for the Church of Bass: 5 minutes of our time each day so that the CoB may win a $50,000 grant. The money will enable us to upgrade the CoB space, so that we can reopen a brand new CoB in the Spring! Complete with new exits, a wood floor, and more bathrooms! It will allow us to fully manifest the CoB ViSiON, for the benefit of everyone that walks through our doors!

The November round of the contest is under way, and we are in 37th position. We have very strong partners this month, and combined with strong support from the communities we serve we can make into the Top 10, and win! In addition, our votes for our partners will also help their worthwhile programs to get the funding they desperately need.

It takes less than 5min each day to fully participate!  We realize that you’ve given so much already, and that our goal of winning this grant may not seem very likely to you. We are asking you to believe with us that it is possible, that we can and will succeed, and throw your full weight behind this effort.

Pepsi Refresh in Nov – yes or no?

The Church of Bass has been competing for a $50,000 Pepsi grant in September and October. We have done really well, finishing September in 94th position, and 48th (est) in October, out of almost 500 entries! Our ranking reflects strong support for the CoB in the communities we serve, and is a clear indication that the CoB Vision* resonates well beyond the PNW!

Although we will not finish in the Top10 in Oct, we will likely finish in the Top100 and advance to the November round, offering us another opportunity to win $50k. It leaves us with a difficult decision: Should we campaign in November, or not? Read more

OUR PROMISE TO SEATTLE

The Church of Bass in Seattle, WA stands for community through an expression of music, movement, wellness, and heartfelt connection. Our gatherings and events have made a positive impact in many lives. If Church of Bass wins this grant, we make this promise:We will reopen the Church of Bass as a non-profit community space and fully engage with our Vision, for the benefit of our local community. We will do this by hosting intentional events, gatherings, workshops, and classes.

The possibilities are endless ~ together, we can do this!

OUR PARTNERS

Spokane Community Warehouse: Spokane Community Warehouse is a partnership of non-profit agencies in Spokane who work with homeless people to help them get the furniture and household items they need when they move into their new homes.
Playground by the Sound: They are a group of volunteers devoted to building a safe, fun, much needed, outdoor space for families to play together.
Aquaponics: Is a project that will allow integration of a large-scale aquaponics project into an environmental science course at Belfast Central School.  This would allow students to supply lettuce for the school cafeteria salad bar.
Second Chances Wildlife Rehab and Education Center: a 501c3 that provides rehabilitation and safe release to injured and orphaned animals. They serve as a resource for wildlife information through phone calls, web, and education programs in our community.
Clark County Humane Society: a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of stray, abused, neglected and unwanted animals. They have existed for 25+ years and have helped thousands of pets find loving families. Their Shelter is run by a large group of volunteers who provide all of the work, love and care.

An Attitude of Gratitude

The past few weeks of my life has been all about winning a popularity contest, at least as far as the Church of Bass is concerned. Campaign strategy, outreach, emails, press releases, countless facebook updates and so on. All driven by the possibility of winning a $50,000 grant in this contest. Which could be a good thing….or not. Read more

You can help REOPEN the Church! Here’s how:

The Church of Bass building may be closed but very much alive and open in our hearts! We are excited for the future and our intention is to REOPEN later this year. That can only happen if we UNITE as a community! We really can’t do it without you! We believe that we will win this grant that would allow us to step forward immediately! Here’s what we need to do NOW:

  • Vote every day online and by phone (text 102195 to the number 73774) You can vote both ways every day. You also have 9 other votes – please support other worthy causes!
  • Jump in an help with electronic (www) outreach. Tell your friends about our cause! Invite them to join our voting events on Facebook, send emails to people and communities asking for support, and encourage everyone to vote daily.
  • Join our street outreach team that goes to events, gatherings, and venues and hand out handbills to people, asking them to vote for us. We have beautiful business card size get-the-vote-out fliers ready! Contact us by email at info at churchofbass dot org. Or write a comment below this blog entry.
  • Download our 6-up PDF handbill that you can print at home and make copies of. It’s inexpensive and easy to do! Take these with you where you go (to events, gatherings, meeting, wherever) and hand them to people, and ask them to vote for us. (Suggestion: print in high quality B&W, copy at Kinkos)
  • Sign up for our daily reminder email.
